Although no one can guarantee a “problem free” cruise vacation, there are some things you can do to help make your cruise the most carefree, worry free vacation you have ever experienced. We believe strongly that these three options will help to insure a relaxing cruise vacation.
1. Planning ahead means traveling ahead.
If time permits, plan to go to your port of embarkation a day prior to your cruise. This will reduce the worries of weather delays or overbooked and canceled flights. Spend the evening relaxing or seeing the local sights. Sleep in the next morning and take your time getting to the pier, while at the same time, arriving ahead of the crowds fresh and ready to enjoy your entire trip.
2. Pay a little – get a lot.
If you’re purchasing your air transportation from the cruise line, use the cruise line’s custom air service. This service allows you to choose specific flight arrangements such as direct flights, a specific airline to get your frequent flyer points, or a time that best fits your schedule. This service may allow you to eliminate layovers at connecting airports. Although there is a small fee associated with this service, we feel this is one of the best services offered by the cruise lines. Certain restrictions do apply so call us for further information.
3. Protect your vacation.
You paid hard-earned money for your special vacation. Rest assured that your vacation dollars are protected if an unexpected emergency arises and keeps you from your trip. That’s why you should seriously consider travel insurance. This coverage can also protect you from travel delays, baggage problems and medical/dental cost. Most health care plans do not cover claims outside of the country. To find out more, click here.
